Accommodation:

We now completed 3 apartments for you.
  • We have a separate flat with 2 rooms, a small kitchen, bathroom and a cosy snug. We call it "Gamla Huset" as it is situated in the old part of the house. The flat is on 2 levels.
  • The second flat - "Solstråle", on groundlevel, has a kitchenet and a bathroom. An additional bed for a child is possible.
  • The third apartment is on the back of the house. It is a separat flat on groundlevel. The apartment is barrier free and has a small kitchen, large bathroom and two bedroom. We call it "Drömvärld".

Surroundings:
Björkhyddan is situated by a beautiful valley in Småland. The neighbouring farm breeds icelandic horses.
These horses are small and known for their nice behaviour. Through us you can book riding lessons or a relaxing trip in the forest. About 800 m from the house, is the lake Rummen, where you can fish or swim. Risebo is a hunting and fishing paradise about 18 km to the north of us. Also the much known archipelago is within easy reach.
The nearest village of Gamleby (gamleby.se), only 7 km away, is on the Baltic and dates back to medieval times.
The area offers much to see and for hiking there are no limits. You can cycle and have picnics by one of the many beatiful quiet lakes. You can also visit the coastal village of Loftahammar to get a feel of the seaair and watch the sailingboats in the marina. Nearby on the coast is Hallmare Beach where you laze around on the marvellous sandy beaches.
If you want shopping you can visit the nearby Gamleby or the town of Västervik, only 27 km away, where there are many shops, cafes and restaurants.  Pippi Longstocking lives only an hour´s drive away. You can make a daytrip to "Astrid Lindgrens Värld" in Vimmerby and also the nearby "Det Lilla Landet" which shows the whole of Sweden in miniature.
An easy hour´s drive away is the bigger town of Norrköping, where they have preserved the old industrial textile buildings from the 19th century and this centre has become world famous.

Service:
  • We will provide a breakfast according to your wishes. The bread for breakfast comes from our own bakery.
  • We like to bake for you. Our specialty is good whole meal bread baked with sourdough  as well as delicious cakes and real German pretzel buns.
  • Using WiFi Internet is free.
  • For a small contribution, we like to wash your clothes.
  • Bicycles for a trip to our beautiful area are free of charge.
  • You can hire our canoe for 200 SEK/day.
